Slovak Vishne-Nemecke checkpoint suspends truck clearance - Ukrainian State Customs Service

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - The Slovak Vishne-Nemecke checkpoint has suspended truck clearance due to a scanner breakdown, Ukrainian media said, citing the Ukrainian State Customs Service's statement posted on a social network on Saturday night.

"As reported, a scanner has broken down at the Slovak Vishne-Nemecke checkpoint, which is why the Slovak side has suspended customs clearance of trucks. Therefore, the customs of the Uzhgorod motor checkpoint on the Ukrainian side of the border also suspends the registration and clearance of large vehicles," the service said.

Consistent with the current technology of customs clearance in Slovakia, all loaded vehicles that enter its territory are subject to mandatory scanning on the Slovak side, it said.

The service said it does not know when the scanner might be repaired and asked carriers to keep the situation in mind and choose other checkpoints for crossing the border.
