Return of relocated citizens to Russia is normal process - Peskov

MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - The mass return of relocated citizens to Russia is a normal process prompted by more advantageous business conditions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"This is a mixed trend. Russians who left come back as time passes, because in any case doing business here is more interesting; we have more opportunities, and it's always safer doing it at home," Peskov said. Reporters asked him to comment on media reports that the return of citizens who left Russia after the beginning of the special military operation has contributed to Russia's economic growth.

The dynamics of Russian economic development unlock broad opportunities for business, Peskov said. "If you take a look at the statistics regarding the number of small and medium-sized businesses opened this year, tax collection and so on and so forth, you will see that business life has been quite vibrant," Peskov said.

"This is a normal process - some people leave, some arrive, this is how the economy works," he said.
