Primorye to increase rice crops nearly 1.5-fold in 2024 - regional govt
VLADIVOSTOK. May 3 (Interfax) - The Primorsk Territory plans to increase sowing rice crops nearly 1.5-fold times to 12,600 hectares in 2024, the regional government's press service said.
There are currently around 1,800 hectares sown with rice, which is slightly more than 14% of the planned area.
As previously reported, agricultural producers in Primorye harvested 840,000 tonnes of soybeans, corn and rice in 2023, a decline of 27.6% year-on-year, which was attributable to the consequences of severe flooding in the region in August last year.
