Ukrainian Railways increases passenger traffic by 25% in 4 months
MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Railways transported 8.43 million passengers by long-distance trains in January-April 2024, which is up 25% year-on-year, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian Railways press service on Thursday.
"In the first four months of 2024, Ukrainian Railways transported a quarter more passengers by long-distance trains than in the same period last year: in the period from January to April this year, 8.43 million passengers traveled by Ukrainian Railways trains compared to 6.78 million in 2023," the statement said.
Most of all passengers were carried between Kiev and Lvov (412,000), Kiev and Dnepr (255,000), Kiev and Kharkov (237,000) during the period. At the same time, 93% of Ukrainian Railways trains on domestic routes arrived on time, and the women's carriages service was highly rated by the Net Promoter Score (NPS) consumer loyalty index at 90%.
The highest traffic was observed between Kiev and Chelm (Poland), which was used by 74,000 passengers in January-April, which is up 87% year-on-year, Ukrainian Railways said.
Overall, 703,000 passengers have been carried on the international routes for four months, compared to 546,000 in January-April 2023.
