Cargo traffic unblocked at Ukrainian-Polish border - Ukrainian prime minister

MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has expressed hope for a pragmatic, mutually advantageous basis of further relations with Poland.

"The Ukrainian-Polish border has been practically unblocked. Hopefully, we have closed this page in our relations with Poland, which will have a pragmatic, mutually advantageous basis from now on," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Tuesday.

He thanked the Polish government and Prime Minister Donald Tusk for the respective efforts.

Earlier, media cited Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Nikolai Solsky as saying that every checkpoint at the Ukrainian-Polish border was unblocked in the early hours of Monday.

As reported, ministries and associations are continuing talks and have agreed on the monthly exchange of agricultural transit statistics in order to keep the situation under control.

The agriculture ministers of Ukraine and Poland are due to have their next meeting on May 7 to discuss terms of cooperation between national agrarian sectors in summer.
