Int'l trader resumes grain exports from Odessa deep-water ports

MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - International trader Qortia AG, Switzerland, has resumed grain shipments from Ukraine's deep-water ports, Ukrainian media said, citing the company's statement on social media.

The Panama-flagged Bereket M vessel, carrying 21,500 tonnes of Ukrainian corn, has been dispatched from Ukraine's Yuzhny port to Turkey, Qoria said.

"The Bereket M became the first vessel of the current year that our team loaded independently at a deep Ukrainian port. Since the company's inception six years ago, Qortia AG has actively shipped from Ukraine specifically through deep water. However, after the start of the crisis, we focused largely on developing river transportation and transshipment in ports of the Danube cluster, where the company's share reached 15% of the market," it said.

Qortia AG is a Swiss trading and logistics company, specializing in trade and wholesale exports of crops, including wheat, corn, soybeans, barley, etc., oilseeds and processed products. The company's Ukraine office is located in Odessa. It is co-owned by Konstantin Kuflik, Dmitry Yandovsky and Andrei Vetryak.

The Bereket M is a Panama-flagged bulk carrier 154.38 meters long and 26 meters wide.
