Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are at unprecedentedly high level - Kyrgyz President Japarov

BISHKEK. May 2 (Interfax) - China remains a key economic and investment partner for Kyrgyzstan, and the relationship between the two countries is currently at an unprecedentedly high level, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said on Tuesday following a meeting with Zhao Gang, governor of China's Shaanxi province, who was on a visit to Kyrgyzstan.

"The relationship between Kyrgyzstan and China is at an unprecedentedly high level, especially now that they have brought their bilateral cooperation to a level of comprehensive strategic partnership. China has been among Kyrgyzstan's key partners in the field of economy and investment for years," the Kyrgyz presidential press service quoted Japarov as saying.

The Kyrgyz leader mentioned a trend toward bolstering positive relations with the Shaanxi province and invited Chinese government and private businesses, including investors from Shaanxi, to do business in Kyrgyzstan and pursue joint economically beneficial investment projects.

Zhao said the delegation he led was tasked with taking the necessary measures to promote cooperation and trade with Kyrgyzstan. He said he expected Chinese-Kyrgyz railway projects and the China-Europe Railway Express to help boost trade between Shaanxi and Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan.
