Russia interested in industrial development of lithium deposits in Bolivia - Lavrov

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Russia is interested in the industrial development of lithium deposits in Bolivia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We view the industrial development of Bolivian lithium deposits as an undoubtedly promising area," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow, following talks with Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda.

At the talks, "we had a detailed discussion of the additional steps towards a solution to meet both countries' interests and maintain a balance of their interests, including the initiatives put forward by the Bolivian side in the spheres of energy and agricultural supplies," he said.

There is "considerable potential" for Russian-Bolivian cooperation on energy, Lavrov said.

Russia's Gazprom is developing deposits together with local partners, and Rosatom is building Latin America's unique nuclear research center in Bolivia, he said.
