Technonikol invests over 11 bln rubles in construction of third rock-wool plant in Kazakhstan

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 24 (Interfax) - Technonikol has begun construction of a stone wool plant in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, the company said in a press release.

The cost of the project is 11.4 billion rubles.

This will be the company's third plant in Kazakhstan. The new plant will export about 30% of its produce to Russia's Ural and Siberia regions. It is expected to be commissioned in April 2026.

The new plant will be built in the Saran Industrial Zone and will in time employ more than 180 people. In addition, about 1,500 jobs are expected to be created in related service companies.

The plant will produce mineral wool for thermal and sound insulation of roofs, facades, floors and internal partitions of residential, public and industrial buildings, as well as insulation for sandwich panels and technical insulation. The products will also be exported to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, China and Mongolia, according to the press release.

In 2024, Technonikol will put into operation two plants that will produce thermal insulation materials in Kazakhstan. Both plants are located in the Kairat industrial Zone in the Talgar district of the Almaty region and will produce rock wool and extruded polystyrene foam (XPS).
