Ukrenergo to restrict power supply for industrial consumers, businesses in all regions on Wed evening

MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Controlled restrictions on power supply to industrial consumers (capacity limitation schedules) will be imposed throughout Ukraine from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Ukrainian media reported, citing the NEC Ukrenergo's press service.

Consumption restrictions for businesses and industrial enterprises will be evenly distributed in all Ukrainian regions, it said.

At the same time, power supply to critical infrastructure facilities and defense enterprises will not be restricted.

"The need to limit power supply is the result of damage to Ukrainian power plants. Due to worsening weather conditions in Ukraine, electricity consumption has dramatically increased. There is still a lack of capacity in the energy system," the NEC said.

"We are asking all consumers to consume electricity carefully, and industry and businesses to involve electricity imports and alternative power sources as much as possible," it added.
