Ukraine extends anti-dumping duties on Russian rebar, wire rod for five years

MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade (ICIT) has decided to extend anti-dumping duties of 15.21% on steel reinforcing bars and wire rod from Russia for five years, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the relevant document.

The decision went into effect on the date of its publication on April 17.

The document says that following a request by the PJSC ArcelorMittal Krivoi Rog steel works, the commission at the beginning of 2023 began a review of anti-dumping measures on imports of rebar and wire rod originating from Russia due to their expiry. The review covered the period from January 1 to December 31, 2022.

The ICIT in February 2017 launched an anti-dumping probe against rebar and wire rod from Russia based on a complaint from PJSC ArcelorMittal Krivoi Rog, as well as a report and conclusions from the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry. The decision to introduce anti-dumping duties of 15.21% on rebar and wire rod from Russia for a period of five years was reached on December 28 and went into effect 60 days after publication on December 29.

Anti-dumping duties apply to rebar with 6-40 mm in diameter and wire rod 5.5-14 mm in diameter.
