Ukraine sends over 200,000 tonnes of food to Africa - Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry

MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Ukraine has sent over 200,000 tonnes of food to Africa under the Grain from Ukraine program, Ukrainian media said, citing the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

According to the ministry, seven ships have transported over 195,000 tonnes of grain and more than 7,600 tonnes of flour to Somalia, Ethiopia, Yemen and Nigeria. Kenya has been provided with 25,000 tonnes of grain.

In the course of a meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Eastern Africa Grain Council and Kenyan agrarian businesses at the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, the guests voiced their interest in developing cooperation with Ukrainian agribusinesses, agrarian associations and authorities, the media said.
