UK foreign secretary to visit Kazakhstan on April 24-25

ASTANA. April 23 (Interfax) - UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron will visit Kazakhstan this week as part of his Central Asian tour, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press service said on Tuesday.

"A visit to Kazakhstan by Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Cameron will take place on April 24-25, 2024," the press service said.

Cameron will meet with senior Kazakh officials and will hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, it said.

"Issues related to bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as key regional and international topics will be discussed during the visit," the press service said.

A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed following the visit, it said.

Cameron will arrive in Kazakhstan from Kyrgyzstan. He has earlier visited Tajikistan.

The UK Foreign Office said earlier that Cameron would travel to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia as part of his tour. He intends to discuss trade and security, among other issues, during the visits.
