Ukrgazvydobuvannya gets daily flow of 120,000 cubic meters of gas from old well following perforation

MOSCOW. April 23 (Interfax) - Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV) has obtained a daily flow of 120,000 cubic meters of gas and 9 tonnes of condensate from an old well following additional perforation, Ukrainian media quoted the company's press office as saying.

The old well increased output after an overlying horizon was put into production. The field has been developed since 1993 and is 75% depleted, with recoverable reserves estimated at more than 5 billion cubic meters.

"Increasing production is not only a matter of opening new wells. This is a complex task that requires skilled work with the existing well stock. Our specialists are focused on finding opportunities for additional production from old wells. The new approach that UGV geologists are use enables us to see opportunities that simply were not there before," said Alexei Chernyshov, head of the Naftogaz group.

UGV's saleable gas production fell 3% to 12.5 billion cubic meters in 2022. UGV produced 13.224 bcm of saleable gas in 2023, up 679 mcm from 2022.

Naftogaz owns 100% of UGV.
