IMF forecasts Azerbaijan's current account surplus to be around $7 bln per year in 2024-2025
BAKU. April 22 (Interfax) - The International Monetary Fund forecasts Azerbaijan's current account surplus to be $6.7 billion in 2024, or 8.5% of GDP, the IMF said in its April regional review of the Middle East and Central Asia.
The IMF said that Azerbaijan's current account surplus should total $6.6 billion in 2025, or 8.1% of GDP.
As previously reported, Azerbaijan's current account surplus totaled $8.3 billion, or 11.5% of GDP, at the end of 2023. According to the baseline scenario of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the current account surplus should total $7-$8 billion at the end of 2024.
