Yakutia increases gold production 20% in Q1 to 9.5 tonnes
YAKUTSK. April 19 (Interfax) - Gold mining companies in Yakutia increased gold production 20% in Q1 2024 versus the same period last year, to 9.5 tonnes, the republic's Ministry of Industry said in a press release.
"Production from companies Polyus Aldan , Seligdar , Polymetal, Nordgold , TZRK [Vysochaishy] and Zapadnaya helped increase volumes," the ministry said.
The Aldansky and Olekminsky regions were the republic's top producers, with production levels over 3 tonnes.
As reported, Yakutia took second place in gold output in Russia in 2023, producing nearly 50 tonnes. The region plans to maintain this figure in 2024.
