Delo Group to enter consolidated cargo segment - Shishkarev

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Delo Group intends to set up a company to operate in the consolidated cargo segment of the shipping industry, the group's co-owner Sergei Shishkarev said in an interview with national daily Kommersant published on Thursday.

"We're creating a company to ship consolidated cargo. This is an unexpected segment, but it will be able to generate about 40 billion-50 billion rubles of revenue," Shishkarev said.

The company will be set up in 2024 and there are plans to buy up to 500 trucks for the project, he said.

When asked about interest in the air transportation segment, Shishkarev said that in order to go into air transport, it is necessary to clearly identify the range of cargo that requires air, the most expensive, mode of transportation. "To do this, we are now planning to go to Dubai to look at their developments. The segment is developed there. In our country, unfortunately, it is negligible," he said.

"We hope to enter the top ten logistics companies in the world with revenue of about 2 trillion rubles by 2035, and into the top three Russian grain exporters with a volume of 25 million tonnes, with at least 50% international revenue in our revenue structure," Shishkarev said.
