USAID Agro to fund construction of cereal plant in Ukraine's Poltava region

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - A feed mill in Ukraine's Poltava region plans to expand capacity for processing corn and pea grain, Ukrainian media reported, citing the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Agro program as saying on social networks.

The Lokhvitsky feed mill will implement the grant project in cooperation with the agency, the statement said.

Under the project, the enterprise will launch construction of a cereal plant that produces corn groats and flour, and will process peas. The plant is scheduled to start operations in November this year.

The plant is expected to produce up to 120 tonnes of grain per day. It will operate using new Ukraine-made equipment. The plant plans to collaborate with farmers who will grow corn using the seeds provided to them.
