Belarusian GDP up 4.1% in Q1
MINSK. April 17 (Interfax) - Belarusian GDP rose 4.1% year-on-year at constant prices in Q1 2023 to 53 billion Belarusian rubles, national statistical committee Belstat said.
The GDP deflator was 108.7%.
GDP grew 4% year-on-year in January-February and 2.8% in January alone.
Belarusian GDP grew 3.9% in 2023, more than a targeted 3.8%. Growth of 3.8% is planned in 2024.
The Eurasian Development Bank expects the Belarusian economy to grow 2% in 2024, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development predicts 1.3%, the World Bank 1.2% and International Monetary Fund 2.4%
GDP fell 4.7% in 2022 after rising 2.3% in 2021.
