Household inflation expectations in Russia decline to 11.0% in April from 11.5% in March - Central Bank commissioned survey

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - Inflation expectations of Russia's households declined to 11.0% in April from 11.5% in March, according to the InFOM survey commissioned by the Central Bank of Russia and posted on the regulator's website.

Household inflation expectations in April have thus returned to the level of July 2023 at 11.1%.

The population's observed estimate of inflation declined to 14.4% in April from 14.8% in March, thus returning to the 14.3% level of March 2023.

InFOM conducted the survey on April 1-11, 2024.

Inflation expectations have decreased to 12.2% from 12.9% among respondents without savings, but have risen to 9.9% from 9.8% among respondents with savings.

Observed inflation among respondents without savings has decreased to 15.7% from 16.7%, but has increased among respondents with savings to 13.1% from 13.0%.

Inflation expectations are one of the key factors for which the CBR accounts when taking decisions on the key rate. The next rate-setting meeting takes place on April 26.
