Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company ends 2023 with record profits

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has finished 2023 with a record profit of UAH 719 million, having repaid existing debts, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Restoration.

"The enterprise paid more than UAH 140 million to the state budget, having fulfilled its obligations to the state in full. The dividends amounted to almost UAH 216 million, which is a record high for all years of Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company's operations. At the same time, the company has repaid existing debts," the statement said.

The result became possible mainly thanks to a single logistic service of combining freight with transshipment in Ukraine and Constanta. At the same time, since the crisis broke out, there has been a high demand for river transportation, which is performed without intermediaries at a market price. The procurement system has also been well structured and a large number of anti-corruption measures have been carried out, the Ministry of Reconstruction said.
