Belarusian industrial output up 6.5% in Q1

MINSK. April 16 (Interfax) - Belarusian industrial output rose 6.5% year-on-year at constant prices to 49.2 billion Belarusian rubles in January-March, national statistical committee Belstat said.

Output rose 7.1% year-on-year in January-February and 5.4% year-on-year in January. It rose 5.3% year-on-year and 7.1% month-on-month in January.

Output grew in the extractive industry by 6.3% and in manufacturing by 6.4%. It rose 8.2% in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning but and 0.1% in water utilities.

Industry grew 7.7% in 2023, fell 5.4% in 2022 and grew 6.5% in 2021.
