Germany issues about 20,000 Schengen visas to Russians in 2023

MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - The visa department of the German embassy to Russia issued 40,000 visas to Russian citizens in 2023, and about half of them were short-term Schengen visas.

"Last year, the visa department of the embassy in Moscow issued about 40,000 visas to Russian citizens, about 20,000 Schengen visas and another 20,000 national long-term visas, first and foremost for specialists. By the number of specialist visas, Germany ranks first among EU countries represented in Russia," the German embassy said on Telegram.

Applications for German visas can be filed at VisaMetric visa centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Kaliningrad, it said.
