Ukraine's State Border Service updates border crossing statistics

MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - The number of border crossings from Ukraine increased to 238,000 between April 6-12 from 232,000 the week before, while the number of crossings into Ukraine declined to 234,000 from 252,000, Ukrainian media outlets said, citing data published by Ukraine's State Border Service on social media.

The number of vehicles crossing the border dropped 0.9% to 116,000 between April 6-12 from the previous week's 117,000 due to a 2.5% decline in passenger traffic, with the number of vehicles carrying humanitarian cargo rising to 718 from 595.

Updated statistics from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees put the number of Ukrainian refugees in Europe as of March 14 of this year at 5.983 million, which is 21,000 fewer than the month before, and at 6.486 million globally, 6,000 more compared to the previous month.

According to UN data, there were 3.689 million internally displaced persons inside Ukraine as of December 31, 2023, which is 15,000 more than in early November.
