Egyptian investor could invest $30 million in a full-cycle biopharmaceutical plant in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. April 15 (Interfax) - Egyptian company EIPICO (Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Industries) is ready to invest $30 million in the construction of a full-cycle biopharmaceutical plant in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, the press service of national company Kazakh Invest said.

The planned location of the pharmaceutical production facility is the Saran industrial zone.

"It is expected that the implementation of the project for the production of biosimilars [bioanalogues of original drugs] and anticancer drugs in accordance with international GMP standards will lead to the creation of 150-200 permanent jobs. Products for the treatment of oncological diseases will be supplied to both domestic and foreign markets in nearby countries," the statement said.

EIPICO is Egypt's largest manufacturer of pharmaceutical products, producing more than 400 products. The company has been operating since 1985.
