ASTANA. April 15 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have held talks in a narrow format, the Kazakh presidential press service said.

At the meeting, "the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening multifaceted relations between Kazakhstan and Armenia," the press service said.

The sides discussed trade, economic, transit, transport, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, emphasizing regional stability and security, it said.

"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said he attributed a high significance to the official visit as an important step in the development of bilateral relations. The Kazakh president underlined the sizable potential of both countries for stepping up cooperation in a broad range of areas," the press service said.

In turn, Pashinyan noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations and expressed the readiness for joint efforts to bring Armenian-Kazakh relations to a new level.

Tokayev is paying a one-day official visit to Yerevan before going to a flood-stricken region of Kazakhstan.
