Lukoil opens franchised gas station in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. April 15 (Interfax) - Russia's Lukoil has opened a franchise gas station in Kazakhstan, the company said on Telegram.

"Following our gas station opening in Uzbekistan, Lukoil has opened its first franchise gas station in Kazakhstan. These represent new development opportunities in the region, both for the company itself and for local fuel retailers. Together we are interested in providing consumers with a high level of services and premium fuel," the statement said.

The company did not release additional details.

The media reported on Lukoil's plans to enter Kazakhstan's auto fuel retail market via franchise projects in March 2023.

Lukoil has been operating in Kazakhstan since 1995, developing projects for oil production and transportation, production of lubricants and green energy. The company participates in the Tengiz (with a share of 5%), Karachaganak (13.5%), and Kumkol (50%) production projects, and is part of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
