Netherlands to send Kiev further military aid worth 1 bln euros in 2024, 3 bln euros in 2025 - PM

BRUSSELS. April 12 (Interfax) - The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with one billion euros in additional military aid in 2024 and allocate three billion euros in defense support for the country in 2025, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Friday.

"The Netherlands will allocate an additional one billion euros in military assistance this year. This is in addition to the two billion euros whose spending the authorities have already approved. We have also decided to send three billion euros in military assistance for next year," Rutte said on X.

In addition, the Netherlands will use 400 million euros "to support Ukraine's economy and repair its vital energy infrastructure," he said.

The Netherlands continues to make efforts to hasten the delivery of more munitions and air defense weapons to Ukraine together with international partners, including Denmark and the Czech Republic, he said.

In early March, the Netherlands and Ukraine signed a ten-year bilateral security agreement. The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with assistance and support "across the whole spectrum of defense cooperation, and also on reconstruction, support for sanctions, and the fight for justice," Rutte said.
