Ukrainian Energy Ministry announces energy supply restrictions in Kharkov region, Krivoi Rog

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Energy supply is being restricted to customers in Ukraine's Kharkov region and to industrial customers in Krivoi Rog in the Dnepropetrovsk region on Friday, Ukrainian media have reported referring to the Energy Ministry's statement on its social account.

Certain equipment at a high-voltage substation in the Dnepropetrovsk region caught fire in the early hours of Friday, it said.

"Industrial customers were cut off from power supply. Some of the customers were reconnected to power lines in the morning," the ministry said.

Active power generation by solar power plants owing to sunny weather on April 11 prompted the transmission operator to restrict renewable energy generation in the amount of 7,394 MW/h.

"Surplus electricity amounting to 800 MW/h was also supplied to Poland. On the other hand, 1,800 MW/h of electricity was acquired from neighboring countries at peak hours in the evening," it said.
