Test payload launched by Angara-A5 rocket from Vostochny inserted into orbit - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The Orion booster launched by an Angara rocket on Thursday from Vostochny Cosmodrome has placed a test payload mass into a geostationary orbit, the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos said.

"The Orion booster launched by the first Angara-A5 rocket from Vostochny Cosmodrome delivered a test payload to geostationary orbit today. No separation of the test payload from the booster was planned," Roscosmos said.

The main task set for the first launch as part of the flight tests of the Amur rocket with Angara-type heavy launch vehicles at Vostochny Cosmodrome has been fully accomplished, it said.

"The Orion booster with the test payload will be moved to a storage orbit in order to avoid creating interference with any spacecraft operating in geostationary orbit," Roscosmos said.
