SUEK-Kuzbass launches mine face with over 6.5 mln t of coal at New November 7 Mine

KEMEROVO. April 11 (Interfax) - SUEK-Kuzbass, a division of leading Russian coal miner SUEK, has put a mine face with reserves of more than 6.5 million tonnes of D rank thermal coal into operation at the New November 7 Mine, the company reported.

The mine face is expected to produce at least 380,000 tonnes of coal per month. The mineable thickness of seam Sychevsky-1 is 4.7 meters and the full length of the extraction panel of the new face is 2.9 km.

"The mine face is outfitted with 210 mechanized support units. The face equipment also includes a face transport system and new high-performance cutter-loader," the company said.

SUEK includes 28 coal mining enterprises, seven coal preparation plants and units, Siberian Generating Company and a number of other assets. The group operates in 12 regions of Russia.
