Germany increases exports to Russia 1.5% MoM in February, boosts imports 23.5%

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - Germany increased exports to Russia 1.5% month-on-month to 674.371 million euros in February 2024, according to data from the German Federal Statistical Office, Destatis.

Germany boosted imports from Russia 23.5% month-on-month to 213.956 million euros in February.

Exports to Russia fell 24% year-on-year in February 2024, and imports dropped 36.2% year-on-year in the reporting period.

Germany's overall exports declined 2% month-on-month to 132.9 billion euros in February 2024, adjusted for calendar and seasonal factors, though imports rose 3.2% to 111.5 billion euros.

German exports of goods decreased 3.9% month-on-month to European Union countries in February. Exports grew 0.4% to non-EU countries. Exports rose 10.2% to the United States, declined 2% to the UK, and decreased 0.6% to China.

Imports dropped 5.7% from EU countries in February, and rose 14.7% from non-eurozone countries. Imports surged 16% from China, though they declined 5.2% from the U.S. and 4.6% from the UK.

Germany's foreign trade surplus totaled 21.4 billion euros in February against 27.5 billion euros in January.
