Ukraine resumes container shipping via Black Sea

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - A vessel carrying containers arrived at Chernomorsk, one of the Greater Odessa ports, on April 3 after Ukraine resumed container transportation via the Black Sea, Ukrainian media said, citing the Odessa-based Dumskaya media outlet.

The vessel is the Panama-flagged T Mare, which is classified not as a container carrier but as a general cargo ship, Dumskaya said.

It is not yet a full-fledged specialized vessel, but a so-called feeder, which will be loaded with containers and will set off to a foreign hub where the containers will subsequently be transferred to ocean-going container ships of world container lines, it said.

According to data from the MarineTraffic ship tracking and maritime analytics system, the vessel left the Chernomorsk port for the Constanta port in Romania.

The T Mare is a cargo ship, 105 meters long and 17 meters wide.
