Ukraine, Hungary negotiate ways to improve bilateral relations

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - High-ranking Ukrainian and Hungarian delegations have discussed ways to address key items on the bilateral agenda at a virtual meeting, Ukrainian media said, citing the press service for the Ukrainian Presidential Office.

Office head Andrei Yermak said that five out of 11 points proposed by Hungary had been coordinated. There are coordinated positions on the issues of ethnic communities drafted and preliminary approved by working groups. The continuing work will be finalized shortly, he said.

Progress has also been made in broadening logistics and transport capacities of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. The admission of trucks without weight restrictions will begin at the Luzhanka-Beregshuran checkpoint this month. A new checkpoint, Velyka Palad-Nagyhodos, will open. That will help reduce truck lines on the border with Hungary.
