MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Non-weather conditions caused a power outage in 388 populated localities in Ukraine in the morning of April 3.

Technological and other conditions cut power supply to 388 populated localities on Wednesday morning, Ukrainian media said, citing the Ukrenergo Electricity Transmission System Operator.

The company confirmed an earlier report of the Energy Ministry, which said that high winds cut power supply to 337 populated localities in seven regions on Wednesday morning.

A thermal power plant unit was turned on overnight, Ukrenergo said.

Weather is good for solar and wind generation, it said.

Besides hourly power outage schedules in effect in Kharkov, restrictions have been extended for industrial enterprises in the Krivoi Rog district of the Dnepropetrovsk region.

According to Ukrenergo, 5,415 MW/h of electricity were imported from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova on April 3, and the supply peaked 1,091MW in certain hours.

Electricity is exported at night, when domestic consumption is minimal, and during the day when renewable power plants are running at full capacity. The exports to Hungary, Romania and Moldova total 1,487MW/h with the maximum capacity of 269MW in certain hours.
