Lavrov to visit China in near future - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit China in the near future, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Lavrov will pay an official visit to China in the near future. He is due to negotiate with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

The visit date will soon be announced "together with Chinese colleagues," she said.

"The foreign ministers are expected to discuss a broad range of bilateral cooperation issues and interaction on the world stage, with an emphasis on joint work at the UN, BRICS, the SCO, the G20, APEC and other multilateral mechanisms and forums," Zakharova said.

"There will be a detailed exchange of views on a number of pressing issues, regional topics, including the Ukraine crisis, the situation in the Asia Pacific region, and other matters," she said.
