Retail trade grows 15.4% in Ukraine in 2023 - State Statistics Service

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Retail trade grew 15.4% year-on-year in comparative prices in Ukraine in 2023, Ukrainian media said, citing the State Statistics Service.

Retail trade grew 24.8% in December 2023, versus December 2022, which is less than the 28.6% growth posted in November, the service said.

The turnover of retail trade enterprises (legal entities) increased by 11.7% in comparative prices in 2023 from the previous year, it said.

This includes the 19.9% growth of last December and the 23.9% growth of last November.

In nominal terms, retail trade totaled 1.823 trillion hryvni in Ukraine in 2023, and the turnover of retail trade enterprises amounted to 1.097 trillion hryvni, the service said.

The service noted that the statistics did not include data from territories uncontrolled by Kiev.

As reported, retail trade dropped 21.4% in Ukraine in 2022.
