New general director appointed at Kazakhstan's Atyrau Oil Refinery

ASTANA. April 2 (Interfax-) - Abzal Dosjanov has been appointed as the new general director of Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP, its owner, KazMunayGas, said in a press release.

Dosjanov previously headed the oil refining and petrochemical department at KazMunayGas.

Galymzhan Zhusanbayev, appointed as the refinery's head in January 2024, was relieved of his duties a month later due to a conflict with employees.

The deputy general director Oleg Lyzlov took over following an inspection.

In addition, the Financial Monitoring Agency launched a pre-trial investigation into alleged abuse of powers by refinery management.

Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP is one of the three leading oil refineries in Kazakhstan. The owner of the plant is KazMunayGas with 99%. The design throughput capacity is 5.5 million tonnes per year, and refining depth up to 86.4%.
