Ukraine exports 11.8 mln tonnes of goods for $3.2 bln in March 2024 - economy minister

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine exported 11.8 million tonnes of goods for $3.2 billion in March 2024, Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko said.

"Ukraine's exports in January hit an all-time high since the start of the crisis, reaching 12 million tonnes a month. The absolute majority went by sea. We exported 11.8 million tonnes of cargo in March. It is $3.2 billion in monetary terms," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Sviridenko as saying in a social media post.

Ukraine's exports totaled $6.8 billion in January-February 2024, according to the State Customs Service.

Ukraine exported 8 million tonnes of goods by rail in March, including 3.2 million tonnes of grain. Seaborne exports stood at 6.3 million tonnes, including 2.1 million tonnes of agricultural products, it said.

"The main objective for this year is to maintain economic growth and become more self-sufficient from an economic standpoint," Sviridenko said.

Ukraine's economy grew 5.3% in 2023, she said.
