Moldovan president, U.S. special envoy discuss Ukraine's recovery

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Moldovan President Maia Sandu and U.S. Special Representative for the Reconstruction of Ukraine's Economy Penny Pritzker met on Monday to discuss Chisinau's role in extending assistance to Kiev, Ukrainian media said, citing the Moldovan presidential administration.

"The discussion centered on the role Moldova could play in Ukraine's recovery," it said.

Modern and safe motorways and railroads in Moldova may facilitate Ukraine's connections with Romania and other European Union countries, boosting regional trade and Moldova's economy.

"Additionally, our country stands ready to host companies involved in Ukraine's reconstruction to facilitate their access and further investment in the neighboring country," Sandu said.
