Key Russian animation studio discussing joint content production with partners from China, Mideast, Southeast Asia
MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - Russia's Soyuzmultfilm animation studio and partners from China and Southeast Asia are discussing the possibility of setting up joint ventures to make animated films, Soyuzmultfilm board of directors chair Yuliana Slashcheva said.
"The next step is a partnership in co-production and its distribution. We are discussing the establishment of joint ventures in several countries to jointly produce content, jointly distribute content, as well as sell licenses there," Slashcheva said at the animation studio's spring summit on Monday.
Soyuzmultfilm is actively working with partners from China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, she said.
The audience of Soyuzmultfilm projects in 2023 was 107 million people, or about 80% of Russia's population, she said.
