Ukraine sees no electricity shortage - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - There is no electricity shortage in Ukraine, hourly schedules of electricity restrictions are in effect only in Kharkov, and grid restrictions for industry are applied in Krivoi Rog, Ukrainian media reported on Monday, citing an Energy Ministry's statement on social media.

As of Monday morning, emergency power outages are not applied anywhere, the power system is operating in a stable and balanced manner, the ministry said.

On Sunday, there was a surplus in the grid, as due to the sunny weather and, accordingly, intensive generation of electricity by the solar power plants during the day, NEC Ukrenergo lowered the load on renewable power facilities totaling 1,739 MWh, it said.

Electricity is expected to be imported in the amount of 14,296 MWh on Monday, as well as a slight export is expected at 240 MWh, which after a week of absence resumed from last Friday in minor volumes.
