Russia and Kyrgyzstan plan to build Chaldovar Thermal Power Plant in republic

BISHKEK. April 1 (Interfax) - The Energy Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Taalaibek Ibraev and Nikolai Shulginov, signed a memorandum of cooperation on the project for the construction of the Chaldovar thermal power plant, the press service of the Kyrgyz ministry said.

"The document is aimed at fostering cooperation between the Kyrgyz and Russian sides with regard to the implementation of the thermal power plant construction project, as well as other promising projects in the field of modernization and construction of generating capacities in Kyrgyzstan," the press release says.

Other details of the project have not been disclosed.
