Russian Emergency Situations Ministry: Crocus attack death toll reaches 144

MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - The number of people who have died resulting from the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue outside of Moscow has reached 144, and another 551 people were injured, the Emergency Situations Ministry office for the Moscow region said on Saturday.

"As of 6:00 a.m. March 30, 2024, the number of casualties resulting from the terrorist attack was 695 (among them 15 children), including 144 people who have died (among them five children)," the ministry said in a press release on its website.

The terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk outside of Moscow took place on the evening of March 22, as several gunmen broke into the venue before a show, opened fire at the audience and staff, and set the building on fire. The Russian Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case on a count of act of terrorism (Russian Criminal Code Article 205).
