Another suspect in Crocus City Hall terrorist attack case detained - Russian Investigative Committee
MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Another individual suspected of complicity in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall has been detained as part of the investigation, and he will be placed under arrest, the Russian Investigative Committee said.
"Another suspect involved in the scheme to fund terrorists has been identified and detained. The investigators will request that the court order a restraining measure against him in the form of remand in custody," the committee said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel on Thursday.
The terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Krasnogorsk outside Moscow occurred in the evening of March 22, when several armed assailants opened fire on concertgoers and set fire to the building. According to updated reports, the tragedy claimed the lives of 143 people and over 180 others were injured. The Russian Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case over the terrorist attack.
On the day following the terrorist attack, the Kremlin press service said that Russian Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the detention of 11 suspects, including all four terrorists directly involved in carrying out the terrorist attack. Moscow's Basmanny District Court arrested the latter on March 24. On Monday, the court arrested another four suspects at the investigation's motion.
