MinFin considering possibility of regular Alrosa diamond purchases and increase in Gokhran limits

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - The Russian Finance Ministry is considering the possibility of regular diamond purchases from Alrosa and increasing Gokhran's limits for this purpose, the ministry's press service told reporters.

"A preliminary agreement on the possibility of purchases was reached in December, the first purchase was made in March. Purchases will be made on a regular basis. The possibility of increasing the limits is being considered," the press service said.

Specific amounts and volumes will not be announced due to the sanctions restrictions imposed on Alrosa.

In the future, the diamonds purchased by Gokhran are planned to be sold, the specific terms will depend on the current market conditions, the ministry said.
