Former Umid Babek Operating Company director appointed new CEO at Azneft

BAKU. March 28 (Interfax) - State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) President Rovshan Najaf has appointed Ali Gurbanov as CEO at the PC Azneft production association, a SOCAR entity for oil and gas production, the company said.

Gurbanov was director of the Azerbaijani branch of Umid Babek Operating Company prior to the current appointment [the company itself is registered offshore].

Gurbanov has replaced Shahmar Huseynov as CEO at Azneft Production Association, SOCAR told Interfax.

Huseynov had been Azneft CEO since December 2019.
