Scheduled power outages continue in Kharkov region, may resume in Odessa, Khmelnitsky regions, almost 400 populated localities having blackout - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Scheduled power outages, which a number of Ukrainian regions resorted to after March 22, continue in the Kharkov region only, yet some restrictions are possible in the Odessa and Khmelnitsky regions as power consumption starts growing, Ukrainian media quoted the Ukrenergo electricity transmission system operator as saying on social networks on Thursday.

There is no deficit in the power grid in general. A unit of a thermal power plant has resumed operation after maintenance, and the sunny and windy weather is favorable for renewable energy plants, Ukrenergo said.

Ukrenergo supplied 100 MW/h of electricity to Poland between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the emergency request from the PSE Polish operator. There have been no exports for five consecutive days.

There was no power supply to 389 populated localities on Thursday morning for various reasons. Besides, high winds disrupted power supply to 19 populated localities in the Khmelnitsky region and five in the Kiev region.
