Russian Central Bank includes Tinkoff Bank in register of operators issuing DFA

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia has included Tinkoff Bank in the register of operators of information systems that issue digital financial assets (DFA), and has agreed on the relevant rules for the lending institution's information system, the regulator said.

Tinkoff Bank sees great potential in the DFA market with the development of the appropriate regulatory framework. "We have accumulated extensive experience in creating simple and understandable technological products that are used by millions of people every day. Taking this experience into account, we plan to conduct a number of experiments with DFA, and use our own developments to launch new products," Tinkoff Bank's press service told Interfax.

The lending institution believes that, "DFA technologies in the future will render it possible to increase the variety of financial instruments on the Russian market and further democratize access to capital markets for everyone."

The CBR register prior to this included 10 information system operators for issuing digital financial assets, including the Atomize platform, with Vladimir Potanin's Interros group, the beneficiary of Tinkoff Bank, being among the investors.

Tinkoff Bank ranked 11th in 2023 in terms of assets in the Interfax-100 ranking prepared by the experts at the Interfax Center for Economic Analysis.
