Over 300,000 clients without electricity in Odessa, ports having troubles

MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - Over 300,000 clients are without electricity in Odessa, according to head of the Odessa regional military administration Oleg Kiper.

"Speaking of power supply, over 300,000 clients were without electricity in Odessa as of 7 p.m.," Ukrainian media quoted Kiper as saying on a social network on Monday evening.

Power supply to the Odessa port and certain parts of the railway is unstable, media quoted Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Railways Department of Commerce Valery Tkachev's statement on a social network.

The number of grain hoppers destined for the Greater Odessa ports decreased from 7,288 to 7,063 since March 25.

Concentrations of train cars and abandoned trains are observed in certain areas. There are 14 trains in total, including three headed to Urkelevator in the Odessa port and 11 headed to Transbulkterminal in the Chernomorsk port.

Stabilization power-outage schedules have been drawn up in the Odessa and the Odessa district, Ukrainian media said on Tuesday morning, citing DTEK reports on social networks.

The company reported stabilizing the power grid. The city resumes operation of 50% of electric vehicles.

"Please consume power wisely in order to lessen the strain on the grid," the statement said.
